Hi, I'm Brian.
Based in Singapore.
Digital in flux, the Future Designed
I’ve spent the past 13+ years moving between product design, branding, consumer banking, enterprise software and media. The common thread has always been the same: making complicated systems easier to understand, better to use.
Today, I lead product design work at The Straits Times across app, responsive web and shared newsroom platform systems. I led the design and navigation experience for The Straits Times’ 180th anniversary relaunch, which won Best Website Navigation at the international EPPY Awards 2025. Since then, my work has expanded into reader personalisation, text-to-speech, customer account journeys, automated newsletters and new editorial experiences.
Before joining media, I worked on digital banking at OCBC and FRANK by OCBC, enterprise field-service products at Zinier, and integrated app and retail experiences at habitat by honestbee. That range taught me to look beyond the screen itself — how the product is structured, how cross-functional teams work together, and whether the experience holds up from one touchpoint to the next.
I care deeply about visual craft. My background in branding, editorial writing and painting shapes how I think about rhythm, hierarchy and expression. In fact, I don’t view design as simply polishing interfaces. Often the real work is creating clarity, aligning stakeholders with user needs, and building systems that scale the product forward.
Outside digital product design, I maintain an active fine arts practice. Painting keeps me attentive to composition and the emotional weight of visual decisions. It also fuels my craft.
I’m based in Singapore and open to conversations about ambitious products, design leadership and complex digital systems. Let’s talk.
Brian graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Visual Communication, from the Nanyang Technological University. Recipient of the prestigious ASEAN Scholarship by the Ministry of Education, Singapore.
